Gilgit-Baltistan is the most spectacular mountain region of Pakistan, which attracts trekkers and mountaineers globally. World’s famous three mightiest mountain ranges the Himalaya, Karakuram and Hindukush meet here. Five out of fourteen 8000m high peaks are in Gilgit-Baltistan including K2 (8611m). There are more than 160 peaks between 7000 and 8000m, 351 peaks between 6000 and 7000 and many more peaks above 5000m.
Many large glaciers outside of polar region including Biafo (63) km, Baltoro 62 km, Batura 58 km and Hisper Glaciers 51km are also situated in Gilgit-Baltistan. Spring and autumn colours, the mountain culture, the people and their hospitality give Gilgit-Baltistan a warm welcoming image of Pakistan.
